Craigie  Aitchison

Craigie Aitchison was born in Scotlland in 1926, he trained at the Slade and was elected to the Royal Academy of Arts in 1978. In 1999 he was appointed Commander of the British Empire.

Through drawing and printmaking Craigie Aitchison gives a glimpse of the imagination and experiences that inspire the vibrant compositions. Familiar subjects of his Bedlington terriers, still life and crucifixions mingle with the landscape of the Isle of Arran, Montecastelli and India.
